15th International Docomomo Conference 2018

Docomomo International is pleased to announce the results of the Call for Papers for the 15th International Docomomo Conference – Metamorphosis. The Continuity of Change, that will take place between 20th and 28th August 2018, at Cankarjev Dom, Ljubljana, Slovenia. Docomomo International had an excellent response to the Call for Papers. About 300 proposals were received, making the selection exceptionally competitive. The Scientific Committee selected the abstracts on the basis of their quality and their relevance to the main issues of Docomomo and to the conference theme and sub-themes. The final selection was made through a multi-stage evaluation process, in order to guarantee a broad scope, from a thematic, geographical and chronological standpoint….

Union Church – Sanctuary & Bell Tower

Docomomo International wishes to draw your attention for the threatened future that Union Church in Hong Kong is facing. “The Union Church is located at No. 22A Kennedy Road, up the hill from Central, and next to where the Peak Tram bridge intersects with Kennedy Road. It was built after World War II to replace an earlier church which had been severely damaged during the war period. The foundation stone of the original church dating from 1890 was re-laid, and is now found right up the entrance stairs. Between 25th and 27th October 2017, the Scientific Committe of the 15th International Docomomo Conference – “Metamorphosis. The Continuity of Change” met in Ljubljana, Slovenia, to select the papers for the Conference which will take place in the Cankarjev Dom, Ljubljana, Slovenia, between 28th and 31st August 2018. Plastics in Modern Movement Buildings | DOCOMOMO ISC/Technology Seminar – TU Delft, 23-24 October 2017 A one-day international seminar focussing on the exterior applications of synthetic building materials will take place on Monday October 23rd, 2017, at the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment at TU Delft, the Netherlands. The books “The Shape of the City” and “The Mediterranean Question” (ed.
