Dirk van den Heuvel is an Associate Professor at TU Delft and heads the Jaap Bakema Study Centre at Het Nieuwe Instituut in Rotterdam. He has published and lectured widely on the work of Alison and Peter Smithson. Together with Max Risselada he curated the Design Museum exhibition on the Smithsons’ house designs, ‘From The House of the Future to a House of Today’, as well as the Team 10 retrospective for the former Netherlands Architecture institute. 15th International Docomomo Conference 2018

Docomomo International is pleased to announce the results of the Call for Papers for the 15th International Docomomo Conference – Metamorphosis. The Continuity of Change, that will take place between 20th and 28th August 2018, at Cankarjev Dom, Ljubljana, Slovenia. Docomomo International had an excellent response to the Call for Papers. About 300 proposals were received, making the selection exceptionally competitive. The Scientific Committee selected the abstracts on the basis of their quality and their relevance to the main issues of Docomomo and to the conference theme and sub-themes. The final selection was made through a multi-stage evaluation process, in order to guarantee a broad scope, from a thematic, geographical and chronological standpoint….
