Highlights – Docomomo ISC/ID Conference 2026 – Recording Change: Documenting Modern Movement Interiors

On 13-14 October 2026 took place in Lisbon the Docomomo IS/ID Conference 2026 – “Recording Change: Documenting Modern Movement Interiors”, the second conference organized  by the Docomomo International Specialist Committee on Interior Design (ISC/ID), in collaboration with Docomomo Portugal. The conference focused on the documentation of Modern Movement interiors and on the challenges of recording environments that are inherently dynamic, vulnerable and constantly changing. Bringing together Docomomo ISC/ID members from different geographical and cultural contexts, it will explore approaches to documenting the material, social and cultural dimensions of modern interiors, considering documentation as a fundamental and proactive form of preservation. Last month, from 17-22 March the 19th International Docomomo Conference with the topic “Multiple Moderns: Climate, Community, Creativity” took place in Los Angeles.
