Collaboration Protocol between DOCOMOMO International and Casa da Arquitectura

docomomo International and Casa da Arquitectura signed a Collaboration Protocol to join forces in promoting architecture and for the exchange of cultural, scientific and professional experiences. The Protocol was formalized on 30 April 2015, in Casa da Arquitectura, Porto, Portugal. This Protocol aims to promote the cooperation between the two institutions as a way of strengthening their professional relationship and the recognition of the importance of preserving modern heritage. The Protocol also intends to create programs, projects and collaborative actions in the fields of architecture and heritage. On 21 March, the TSF Portuguese radio broadcasted an interview to announce the inauguration of the new headquarters of docomomo International in Lisbon and to talk about the International docomomo Seminar on the subject “Rehabilitation and Reuse of Modern Movement Architecture”, that would take place on the 27 March, in Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. Architectural Conservation Masterclass organised jointly by docomomo ISC U+L and the Scottish Centre for Conservation Studies: Brutalist Eyesore and Post Modern Monstrosities: Conserving the C20’s Least Popular Buildings by Catherine Croft. Catherine Croft will consider shifting  public attitudes to  post-war buildings  in the UK and discuss strategies to ensuring the best survive. Catherine Croft is Director of C20 Society and runs the Conservation for Historic Concrete course at West Dean College.  She is currently editing a book on concrete conservation for the Getty Conservation Institute, and regularly writes and speaks about C20 architecture and design.
