DOCOMOMO International is now preparing the DOCOMOMO Virtual Exhibition, through the development of a systematic database that brings together all the registers of Modern Movement architecture that the 70 Working Parties DOCOMOMO have gathered over the past 25 years. Until June 21, the call is open.
The DOCOMOMO Virtual Exhibition is intended to be a global database, not exhaustive but selective, dedicated to all the people interested in Modern mMovement architecture. The website will work as an interactive map with geo-referenced examples of Modern Movement architecture which can be identified through a picture and specific fields of information (name, architect and year of completion).
DOCOMOMO International has been asking, for a year, all the Working Parties to select a minimum of 10 buildings and a maximum of 100 buildings among their records. The 10-100 selection should be the result of a reflection about which buildings can tell more about the specific expression of the Modern Movement in each country, which were the most significant to the local development and which had an impact on the international development of the Modern Movement. If you want to help building this world wide exhibition, talk to your local Working Party and/or contribute either with pictures or other media files (royalty-free) and updated information or articles. Authorship will be assured.
