Following the limitations caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic that closed libraries, bookstores, schools, universities and learning spaces all overs the world, Docomomo International endeavored to transform Docomomo Journal into open source, making all its contents available to readers. Therefore its website has been restructured. Since open source is one of the requirements demanded by the most demanding and effective scientific indexing systems – SCOPUS and Web of Science -, Docomomo International took the time to complete the necessary conditions for indexing, such as the creation of DOIs (digital object identifier) ​​for all published content. On March 20, 2021, the official Japanese Olympic/Paralympic Committee made a decision to bar spectators from abroad. This means some kind of barring of overseas travelers will be expected to extend this Summer and Fall.
