2nd RMB Conference: TEACHING THROUGH DESIGN

The RMB Conference 2018 was held in Coimbra, within the framework of the Colloquium ´Teaching through Design´, organized by the Department of Architecture and the Centre for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra, since 2012. Conference: The Continuing Legacy of Alison and Peter Smithson

Dirk van den Heuvel is an Associate Professor at TU Delft and heads the Jaap Bakema Study Centre at Het Nieuwe Instituut in Rotterdam. He has published and lectured widely on the work of Alison and Peter Smithson. Together with Max Risselada he curated the Design Museum exhibition on the Smithsons’ house designs, ‘From The House of the Future to a House of Today’, as well as the Team 10 retrospective for the former Netherlands Architecture institute. Exhibition: Berenice Abbott – Photographs

Berenice Abbott (1898-1991) is one of the most important photographers of the 20th century. She spent six decades taking pictures. The Martin-Gropius-Bau is now dedicating an exhibition featuring about 80 pictures to her.
