The conference focuses on the documentation of Modern Movement interiors and on the challenges of recording environments that are inherently dynamic, vulnerable and constantly changing. Bringing together Docomomo ISC/ID members from different geographical and cultural contexts, it will explore approaches to documenting the material, social and cultural dimensions of modern interiors, considering documentation as a fundamental and proactive form of preservation.

Hosted at MUDE – Museu do Design on 13 October, the conference will include presentations by Zsuzsanna Böröcz, Zara Ferreira, Deniz Hasirci, Silvia Segarra, Anita Puig, Milena Kordić, Marta Peixoto and Ana Tostões, addressing different methodologies and case studies related to the recording, use, transformation and preservation of Modern Movement interiors.
The program will also offer participants the opportunity to experience two major examples of modern and contemporary interiors in Lisbon through guided visits: MUDE – Museu do Design, led by Barbara Coutinho, on 13 October, and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, led by Ana Tostões, on 14 October.
