Event: Public Space – Passage and Stay

The Center for Urban Information of Lisbon (CIUL), together with partner universities such as FA-UL, ISCTE-IUL, FCSH-UNL, FBA-UL, IST-UL, has organized a 2-day event “Encontro UniverCidades”, to be held on 29th and 30th January. This event aims to reflect on the city of Lisbon in order to foster synergies between different educational institutions and the Municipality itself, around a common theme. EU Mies Award 2019: 40 Shortlisted works announced

The Jury for the 2019 Mies Award has just announced the list of 40 works that are contenders for this year’s Prize. The shortlisted works are spread out in 17 different European countries. 7 of them are in France, 6 in Spain, 4 in Belgium, 3 in Austria and 3 in Denmark. Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands and  Romania have 2 shortlisted works and Albania, Estonia, Finland, Poland, Portugal, Serbia and Slovakia 1 work each. It is the first time that Albania, Serbia and Slovakia have a shortlisted work. In the selection of 40, Culture is the most represented program with 15 works (museums, cultural centres, music theatres and an auditorium/congress centre). The UNESCO Asia-Pacific Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation recognises exemplary efforts by individuals and organisations to restore or conserve structures, places and properties of heritage value in the region. Event: Mies on Scene

Fundació Mies van der Rohe would like to inviete to a new event “Mies on Scene”. It includes the screening of the documentary Mies on Scene: Barcelona in two acts, as well as the announcement of Luftwerk and Iker Gil’s upcoming project ‘Geometry of Light’. The event will take place at 18:00 in the historic Robert F. Carr Memorial Chapel of St. Savior at IIT, Chicago.
