Online course on “Adaptive Reuse in Modern Architecture Heritage” by Docomomo Iran

Docomomo International is pleased inform that Docomomo Iran with the Center of Excellence in Architectural Technology at University of Tehran is organizing an online course on “Adaptive Reuse in Modern Architecture Heritage”. The course consists of 8 sessions: 4 sessions are on different factors in adaptive reuse, and 4 sessions are dedicated to introducing four different adaptive reuse projects of modern buildings in Tehran. Shushtar New Town registered on Iranian National Heritage List

Docomomo Iran shared with Docomomo International good news regarding the protection of a town that was started to be built in 46 years ago in Iran. The Shushtar New Town, a modern – but contextual – city in the southwest of Iran, in of Iran, which was under threat for some demolitions, now is registered on the Iranian National Heritage List. The Shushtar New Town was designed by the Iranian architect, Kamran Diba (1937-), and started to be built in 1974. Docomomo International is glad to announce that Docomomo Iran published the first issue of its newsletter. Docomomo Iran Newsletter is in pdf format and will be published every month (based on Iranian solar calendar). The language of the newsletter is Persian and it consists of five sections: The Foreword, One Architect; One Building, An Adaptive Reuse Project, and News from the World. Guidelines for submitting the 2019/2020 Homework

Dear Docomomo Chapters, Due to the exceptional circumstances of COVID-19, we are extending the deadline of June 1st to August 15th, 2020. A plan for new documentation homework has been approved in the last Council Meeting, August 30th, 2018 (Ljubljana, Slovenia), proposed by the ISC/Registers. With the aim of moving forward to the documentation of conservation good practices, Docomomo Working Parties (WP) have to submit: Working Parties that already have submitted 30 Documentation Fiches and uploaded 50 sites to MOMOVE: (a) 1 fiche for 2019 and 1 fiche for 2020, on an example of Good Conservation Practice. Download the template here: link, and here: link.
