Ordem dos Arquitectos, Lisbon, 13 February 2025
This week, on Thursday, 13 February, at 18H00 will take place the opening of the exhibition and book launch of Glossário de Arquitectura Portuguesa de Autor Fernando Távora at the national headquarters’ building of Ordem dos Arquitetos in Lisbon.
The initiative aims to promote the work of Portuguese architects within academic and urban settings through the reading and interpretation of their texts. The project also seeks to engage authors, students, and future architects, fostering a national meeting. The goal is to create a collection of Architecture Glossaries of Architects [Glossário de Arquitectura de Autor] based on the works of notable Portuguese architects, present an exhibition, and later make the Glossary available for online consultation on the Ordem dos Arquitetos’ website.
With the support of Fundação Marques da Silva, the first edition of the collection presents terms and concepts related to the architecture of Fernando Távora, highlighting the collaborative work between the universities UÉvora, ISCTE, and ISMAT, developed throughout the 2023/2024 semester by 75 students and 7 faculty members.
During the exhibition period at Ordem dos Arquitetos’ Gallery in Lisbon, will be held the talk “Conversas sobre Fernando Távora: A Viagem” on 18 February at 18H00.
The second edition of the Author’s Glossaries will be dedicated to Nuno Teotónio Pereira, being planned its release in October 2025.
