PROHITECH 2020 Postponed

[Message from the Organizing Committee: Dear PROHITECH 2020 participants, Despite the recent encouraging progress regarding the production of COVID-19 vaccines, it seems likely that various travel bans, and social distancing measures will remain for the upcoming months and it is uncertain whether it will be possible to travel and gather to Athens in July 2021 for PROHITECH 2020. In view of the above, the PROHITECH 2020 Organizing Committee has decided one final postponement of the Conference. The Conference will be held on 25-27 October 2021 in Athens. Docomomo International would like to draw your attention to the alarming situation of the Wrocław Sports Park, designed by Richard Konwiarz in 1924 and built from 1926 to 1928, when the city of Wrocław (then Breslau) was still part of Germany. This Olympic Complex was later extended in 1936-1939, and is now facing risk of demolition. This Olympic Complex is a world-class heritage site which was awarded with a brown medal on Olympic Competition of Arts and Literature in Los Angeles in 1932. Every year, the Society of Architectural Historians presents awards that recognize the most distinguished publications in architectural history, urban history, landscape history, preservation, and architectural exhibition catalogues.
