The HECAR Foundation is organizing “Women In Design 2020+”, an International Conference & Exhibition scheduled for the beginning of 2020, in Mumbai, India. The Conference will be held at the Nehru Auditorium, Worli, Mumbai on 8th, 9th and 10th January 2020.
Curated and organized by The HECAR Foundation and Somaya & Kalappa Consultants-SNK, Women In Design 2020+ International Conference & Exhibition, aims to encourage a dialogue on design, architecture, urban design, planning and social issues. The three-day event is planned as a thought-provoking program discussing the role of women in multidisciplinary design and construction professions worldwide. The event will host presentations, discussions and screenings with more than 35 speakers and panelists from India and around the world.
The HECAR Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to research and public initiatives on architecture and its related fields including heritage and urban issues through talks, publications, exhibitions, scholarships and seminars. In 2000 itorganized a Conference and an Exhibition titled ‘Women in Architecture – 2000 Plus’. The conference focused on the work of women architects with namely in South Asia. This landmark conference was accompanied with an exhibition on the works of the participating panellists. After 20 years, the conference is being curated to reassess the roles of professionals in today’s world as there have been significant changes in the way our practices have been shaped.
An exhibition titled “Women In Design 2020+” is also being organized showcasing work of women designers and architects from India and around the World. The exhibition will be held at Goethe Institut Max Mueller Bhavan, Mumbai, and will be running from 8th January to 20th February 2020.
