Registers: Submission of Documents

Request for all Docomomo Chapters

During its last meeting in July 2013, the Executive Committee agreed on the 2013-2014 ISC Registers Plan of Action would be that ALL Docomomo Chapters are kindly asked to submit before the next International Docomomo Conference in Seoul:

A1. To update and resubmit old “International Selection” paper fiches in a digital pdf form.

Docomomo International is trying to collect all the available information to create a Registers website.
Instead of asking for new thematic fiches the 2013 Homework is to “update and resubmit old “International Selection” paper fiches in a digital pdf form to help uploading them in the Register’s website.
The so-called “old International Selection” are the ISC/R fiches older than 2003 (since from 2003 on, the homework was thematic).

A2. To update their thematic selections with a minimum of 10 missing and/or incomplete fiches and to add all missing motivation texts in a digital pdf form to help uploading them in the Register’s website.

Since 2003 the  annual “homework” selection is related to a specific theme (so called “the thematic selections”), and the chapters were invited to submit  5 “mini-fiches” + 1 “full fiche” [extending one of the mini-fiches case] + the motivation text per theme.

The motivation is a text explaining the working parties’s [wp´s] selection and giving more national/regional background of the relations between the theme and Modern Architecture.

The last registers theme´s were:

2003 — Recreation/Sports
2004 — Post War
2005 — Modern House
2006 — Other Modernism
2007 — Education
2008 — Industry and Machine
2009 — Power / Public Buildings
2011 — Health and Modern Architecture

Please note that 10 completed fiches means 10 fichesupdated, with free copyrights images and with all the missing motivation texts in a digital pdf form to help uploading them in the upcoming Register’s website.

B1. All WPs are invited to submit proposals for the new documentation strategy and to send a listwith the most important – buildings, sites and neighborhoods – from each national Register.

The aim of this list is to make a Docomomo International Online Exhibition. Every Chapter should present a list with 20 to 100 buildings — including:

. name of work/ building, site or neighborhood
. author/s and dates of birth/death
. city/place
. year: project and construction
. image free of copyrights

Docomomo International is accepting submissions until the end of this month, 31 July.

The homework should be sent to docomomo@tecnico.ulisboa.pt by www.wetransfer.com.
