O Docomomo Portugal tem o prazer de anunciar que participará na próxima edição dos “Encontros na Moagem”, organizada pelo Museu de Lisboa – Fábrica de Moagem e pelo Museu da Chapelaria. A decorrer nos dias 21 e 22 de maio de 2026, o tema desta terceira edição é “Quanto vale a memória? Dar vida aos espaços industriais”.

A reutilização de edifícios industriais é um tema essencial para um futuro mais sustentável, tendo sido por isso selecionado para esta terceira edição. “Partindo do tema “Quanto vale a memória? Dar vida aos espaços industriais,” a reflexão a realizar será feita através do conhecimento de diferentes casos de edifícios industriais reutilizados e convertidos para fins museológicos ou culturais, principalmente nas últimas duas décadas. Pela primeira vez, será possível realizar uma análise abrangente da reutilização de espaços industriais e da sua adaptação a museus em Portugal. O objetivo é contribuir para a compreensão da distribuição geográfica destes museus construídos em espaços industriais, dos temas que abordam e das escolhas arquitetónicas efetuadas. Outra dimensão a não esquecer são os benefícios que trouxeram ao território, particularmente no contexto do turismo industrial.”

Entre os cerca de vinte especialistas que participarão neste evento, o Docomomo Portugal será representado pelo seu membro João Belo Rodeia, que é também membro do Conselho Consultivo do Docomomo International.

Docomomo Portugal is happy to share that it will participate on the upcoming edition of “Encontros na Moagem” [Milling Encounters] organized by Museu de Lisboa – Fábrica de Moagem and Museu da Chapelaria. Taking place on 21-22 May 2026, the topic of this third edition is “Quanto vale a memória? Dar vida aos espaços industriais” [How much is memory worth? Bringing industrial spaces to life].

The reuse of industrial buildings is an essential theme for a more sustainable future, thus having been selected for this third edition. “Starting from the theme ” How much is memory worth? Giving life to industrial spaces ,” the reflection to be carried out will be through the knowledge of different cases of industrial buildings reused and converted to museum or cultural uses, mainly in the last two decades. For the first time, it will be possible to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the reuse of industrial spaces and their adaptation into museums in Portugal. The aim is to contribute to an understanding of the geographical distribution of these museums built in industrial spaces, the themes they address, and the architectural choices made. Another dimension not to be forgotten is the benefits they have brought to the territory, particularly in the context of industrial tourism.”

Among  the participation of around twenty experts in this field, Docomomo Portugal will be represented by its member João Belo Rodeia, as well member of Docomomo International’s Advisory Board.
