Docomomo International wishes to convey the most sincere condolences at the passing  of the Brazilian architect Paulo Mendes da Rocha, last Sunday, May 23, 2021, to his family and friends.  The second Brazilian to win the Pritzker, the most important architectural award (the first was Oscar Niemeyer, in 1988), Paulo Mendes da Rocha was considered the last architectural giant in Brazil.
