Urbanism+Landscape

Architectural Conservation Masterclass organised jointly by docomomo ISC U+L and the Scottish Centre for Conservation Studies: Brutalist Eyesore and Post Modern Monstrosities: Conserving the C20’s Least Popular Buildings by Catherine Croft. Catherine Croft will consider shifting  public attitudes to  post-war buildings  in the UK and discuss strategies to ensuring the best survive. Catherine Croft is Director of C20 Society and runs the Conservation for Historic Concrete course at West Dean College.  She is currently editing a book on concrete conservation for the Getty Conservation Institute, and regularly writes and speaks about C20 architecture and design. Dear DoCoMoMo Chairs, As it was decided in Seoul in September, the National Chapters that have not complied with the “homework” and sent the revised fiches with the motivation texts have until the end of January to do so. It is important for us all to participate since the result of these materials will be included in a publication edited by Panayotis Tournikiotis and Marieke Kuipers. Also, the revised fiches, in PDF Format, will be uploaded in the Docomomo Registers website, as well as the list with the 100 most important buildings, sites and neighbourhoods. Publications. Re-birth

In order to have more coordination between the ISC’s and other DOCOMOMO bodies regarding publications, the Advisory Board unanimously agreed, on 24 September 2014, on the re-creation of the DOCOMOMO International Specialist Committee on Publications, integrating all the ISC chairs and the DOCOMOMO International Chair. The proposal was unanimously accepted at the 13th DOCOMOMO Council Meeting that took place in Seoul, Korea, 26 September 2014. In the 13th DOCOMOMO Council Meeting that took place in Seouk, Korea, on 26 September 2014, Panayotis Tournikiotis and Marieke Kuipers dropped their positions as Chair and Secretaty, respectively, and were elected as editors.
