docomomo International is pleased to announce the results of the Call for Sessions for the 14th International Docomomo Conference – Adaptive Reuse. The Modern Movement Towards the Future that will take place September 6-9, 2016, at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Lisbon, Portugal. docomomo International had an excellent response to the Call for Sessions. Nearly excellent 100 proposals were received, making the selection extremely competitive. DOCOMOMO International is now preparing the DOCOMOMO Virtual Exhibition, through the development of a systematic database that brings together all the registers of Modern Movement architecture that the 70 Working Parties DOCOMOMO have gathered over the past 25 years. Until June 21, the call is open. The DOCOMOMO Virtual Exhibition is intended to be a global database, not exhaustive but selective, dedicated to all the people interested in Modern mMovement architecture. Francisco Castro Rodrigues was a Portuguese architect that went to work in Angola in 1953, where he was responsible for transforming Lobito into a modern city, from the urbanism scale to the urban equipment. The Protocol was formalized on 30 April 2015, in Casa da Arquitectura, Porto, Portugal.
