On the 10 November, in Paris, docomomo International chair, Prof. Ana Tostões, and the Director of Heritage Division & Director of the World Heritage Centre, Mechtild Rössler, have gathered to strengthen ties between these two organizations and to discuss the developments in world heritage classification.

On 2nd November, docomomo International launched docomomo Journal 53 – LC 50 Years After, in Tokyo, Japan. The launching was conducted by the Chair of docomomo International, Prof. Ana Tostões, and had the presence of Prof. Franz Graf and Prof. Giulia Marino, authors of this issue. As a tribute to Le Corbusier on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of his death, this issue of docomomoJournal is focused on rehabilitation and conservation processes undertaken on Le Corbusier buildings and sites worldwide monitored by the Fondation Le Corbusier.
On 2nd November, took place, in Tokyo, a meeting of docomomo International, together with docomomo Japan and the ASEAN representatives, part of the mASEANa Project, that have participated in the Round Table and Colloquium “Conservation Action Priorities for Twentieth Century Heritage. Sharing experience of ASEAN Countries and Japan”. The Chair of docomomo International, Prof. Ana Tostões, presented successful cases of conservation and rehabilitation of Modern Movement heritage, worldwide. The chair and the vice-chair of docomomo Switzerland, Prof. Franz Graf and Prof. Giulia Marino, acted, also representing the TSAM-EPFL laboratory, in order to share the successful rehabilitation experience conducted in Lignon, Genève, followed by a very meaningful roundtable about conservation strategies on modern heritage monuments and sites…
Between 30th October and 3rd November, the International Round Table and Colloquium “Conservation Action Priorities for Twentieth Century Heritage. Sharing experience of ASEAN Countries and Japan” took place in Tokyo as the first initiative of the mASEANa Project. Promoted by docomomo Japan, this project came from the coalition of docomomo International, mAAN and ICOMOS ISC20c, with the support of the Japan Foundation, for the protection, conservation and promotion of modern heritage monuments and sites in south-east Asia. The goal of this meeting was to bring together representatives of all ASEAN nations and modern heritage experts from docomomo International, mAAN and ICOMOS ISC 20C, to develop a five year plan for the mASEANa Project. The Chair of docomomo International, Prof. Ana Tostoes, participated in the 2nd docomomo Macau Seminar: “Re-Interpreting XX century architecture through adaptive reuse”, presenting the lecture “Modernity Towards a Better Future” and conducting a roundtable on adaptive reuse of modern heritage. THEME: To discuss approaches of intervening in modern movement architecture understanding the role of design strategies and the need of policy to frame and encompass best practices on heritage preservation.
