Algarve Building – Modernism, Regionalism and Architecture in the South of Portugal, 1925-1965

From his winning thesis in 2013 at the Royal Institute of British Architects President´s Award for Outstanding PhD Thesis, Ricardo Agarez issue in this publication the inclusion of Portuguese architecture in the so-called Critical Regionalism through a reconstruction of the discussions and references that period in the Algarve area, and the study of the processes that the canon of the history and criticism of architecture has endorsed, faced with the results of a thorough investigation on buildings, documents, speeches, agents and files.
