“Debating Lisbon’s Future Housing strategy” happens on occasion of the 17th participation of Portugal at the Venice Biennale.

The transmission will be led by the curating team that represents Portugal at the 17th Venice Biennale – depA arquitectos. The debate focuses on Lisbon’s Housing Strategy, namely on the topics of propriety distribution – private, public or cooperative –, of participation methodologies for city construction – active and passive; bottom-up and top-down –, and of typologies selection – flexible or not flexible – regarding the housing and city neighborhoods that will be built during the next years, following the plans in force.
It counts with the presence of: the Lisbon City Councillor for Urban Planning Ricardo Veludo; the architect and member of the Parliament Filipa Roseta; the geographer and activist Luís Mendes; and the architect and professor Inês Lobo.

As a complement of the debate and to extend it, on the online forum all the topics – propriety, participation and methodologies on Lisbon’s housing Strategy – can be further discussed. Through this open debates, the organizers aim to share the relevant information collected to prepare the debate and invite all the ones who are interested to participate either with questions or with information regarding the topics.
