Docomomo International is pleased to announce that the inscriptions for the XIII edition of the Biennial Architecture Thesis Contest [Concurso Bienal de Tesis de Arquitectura] hosted by Fundación Arquia will begin on 1st February and be open until 26th March 2021, 12 pm (GMT +1).
One of the aims of Fundación Arquia is to promote and encourage cultural activities in the field of architecture. Among these activities the arquia/tesis collection pretends to edit and publish architecture PhD theses, that are seen as a relevant contribution to architectural knowledge, once they have been reviewed and adapted to the editorial line by their respective authors. The arquia/tesis collection thus intends to turn available to all who are interested in the field of architectural research, material that, otherwise, would be of difficult access.
With the intention of expanding and enriching the editorial fund of this collection, Fundación Arquia announces this biennial contest aimed at the selection of unpublished PhD theses in Architecture.
On the contest can participate all Spanish and Portuguese architects who have submitted their PhD thesis at any Architecture university of the world, as well as all those foreign architects who presented their PhD thesis at an architecture university in Spain or Portugal.
Accepted are only unpublished PhD theses with maximum classification (Approved with distinction and praise).
