Xenia Hotel in Arta under threat

Docomomo International became aware by Docomomo Greece that the Xenia hotel in Arta, an important modern site, is under threat. Xenia Hotel in Arta (1958) was designed by architect Dionysis Zivas (1928-2018), a Professor at NTU Athens’s School of Architecture since the 1970s, Dean of the School for many years, and a renowned scholar in the field of architectural heritage (Europa Nostra medal, Gottfried von Herder Preis etc.). The Future as a Project: Doxiadis in Skopje is now available in open access digital format

“The Future as a Project: Doxiadis In Skopje” an edited book by Docomomo Greece is now available in an open access in digital format. It presents for the first time Doxiadis’ work in Skopje, which includes strategic plans for the city and a new outline for the master plan. In addition, it presents the work of Kenzo Tange for Skopje’s city centre, and showcases a series of modernist buildings authored by leading Yugoslavian architects that still stand in the city today. Guidelines for submitting the 2019/2020 Homework

Dear Docomomo Chapters, Due to the exceptional circumstances of COVID-19, we are extending the deadline of June 1st to August 15th, 2020. A plan for new documentation homework has been approved in the last Council Meeting, August 30th, 2018 (Ljubljana, Slovenia), proposed by the ISC/Registers. With the aim of moving forward to the documentation of conservation good practices, Docomomo Working Parties (WP) have to submit: Working Parties that already have submitted 30 Documentation Fiches and uploaded 50 sites to MOMOVE: (a) 1 fiche for 2019 and 1 fiche for 2020, on an example of Good Conservation Practice. Download the template here: link, and here: link.
