Docomomo International is pleased to share the Advanced Studies Course in Architectural Heritage of the Faculdade de Arquitetura da Universidade do Porto.
The advanced studies course in Architectural Heritage seeks, in general, to provide the student with:
a) A capacity of systematic understanding in the scientific and technological fields relevant to architectural heritage safeguard;
b) Competences, skills and research methods related with the architectural heritage domain;
c) A capacity to communicate their conclusions, through the corresponding knowledge and reasoning, to both specialists and non-specialists in the architectural heritage field.
The specific aims of the advanced studies course in Architectural Heritage are the following:
a) To provide specific training in the field of architectural heritage safeguard;
b) To meet the growing demand of the labour market for highly trained technicians in this area of knowledge, which is becoming increasingly demanding and specialised;
c) To stimulate a closer and more productive relationship between the university and the organisms and institutions dedicated to intervene in this specific area.
Classes are scheduled to start in September 2021 and the one-year course will take place on Thursdays, 9:00-13:00 and 14:30-18:30 (32 weeks) and Fridays, from 9:00 to 13:00 (8 weeks).
Admission Requirements
Graduates in Architecture (or in a similar training area, such as Engineering, History of Art, etc.) from foreign universities will be admitted in this program, following appreciation of their curricula.
