SUMMARY:20th International Docomomo Conference
DESCRIPTION:The 20th International Docomomo Conference and Student Workshop will be held in Athens\, Greece\, organized by Docomomo International and Docomomo Greece\, and take place on  7-10 September 2028 under the theme Movements. \nTheme:\nMovements \nBeing Docomomo an international movement that studies\, protects\, interprets\, revises\, and evaluates the significant works of a historical international movement\, with the theme “Movements”\, the 20th International Docomomo Conference invites us to reflect on our current position and move in new directions once again. Since the early 1990s\, a group of architects and academics who have documented and defended the works of the modern movement have ultimately established a new movement of their own. \nConsidering the 30-years anniversary of Docomomo to e celebrated in 2028 three debates\, in three different cities (Sofia\, Skopje\, Tirana) are proposed: 3 pairs of internationally acclaimed personalities will discuss significant and relevant topics regarding the importance of modern architecture today (historical/theoretical perspectives\, current building stock\, the adaptive reuse of modern structures\, etc.). \nThe main part of the Conference will be in Athens\, with parallel events in Sofia (Bulgaria) \, Skopje (North Macedonia)\, and Tirana (Albania)\, aiming to describe and discuss the movements that led to the modern movement\, the movements that emerged from the modern movement\, and the movements that need to develop for the future of architecture. \nVenue:\n– NTUA School of Architecture\, Athens \nCollaboration institutions:\n– Faculty of Architecture at Ss.
